| This month meet - Dr Su.
Dr Su has worked as Soi Dog's Head Veterinary Surgeon for 2 1/2 years. She previously spent 6 years in an Animal Hopsital, but longed for a new challenge & desperately wanted to help animals in need. Her busy role at Soi Dog has provided her with that experience as she's involved with all aspects of veterninary surgery as well as overseeing junior vets, drug stock control, teatment, vaccinating & getting our overseas adoption dogs ready for their journeys.
At home, Dr Su has 1 husband, 5 dogs & a cat, three of which came from Soi Dog (We're not telling which 3!). We asked Dr Su if she had a favourite dog here at the shelter & she was reluctant to choose just one, as she loves them all so much. She does however have a very soft spot for a friendly little girl called "Betty" who is soon due to leave for a new home in the UK. The love Dr Su has for her job is obvious, & the care she provides is second to none. She says "I love what I do & I know the shelter dogs are happy & enjoy the best care we can provide. I do cry when dogs get adopted overseas, as I know I will never seen them again. But at the same time I'm happy because I know they go to loving families & nice secure homes". So if you adopt from Soi Dog, make sure you send us plenty of photos of your new family member. They will make Dr Su cry, but they will be tears of joy. Note: Dr Su shed a few tears during this interview just talking about dogs going oveseas!. We all love her dearly. |
